Asian Games 2018: 15-year old Shardul Vihan wins a silver medal in men’s double trap

Shooter Shardul Vihan bagged silver medal in Men’s Double Trap. In final to take India’s medals tally to 17 in the ongoing Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta on Thursday.

Shooter Vihan led the qualification field with a score of 141.
He kept the good work going in the final round, staying in the top two positions throughout.

Vihan though lost out on the gold medal to South Korea’s Shin Hyunwoo in a closely fought final round.

Shardul Vihan is the third young age shooter from India to grab a medal at these Games.

19-year old Lakshay Sheroan won a silver medal in the men’s trap event while 16-year old Saurabh Chaudhary won a gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event in Asian Games 2018.

Shardul Vihan had produced a spectacular performance as he won 4 gold medal on a single day in the 61st National Shooting Championship in November last year, beating then world number one double trapper Ankur Mittal 78-76 in the men’s final.
