Asian Games 2018: Heena Sidhu wins bronze in 10m Air Pistol

India star shooter Heena joined to the medal tally at the Asian Games, wins the bronze in 10m air pistol.

The 28-year old shooter Heena Sidhu had a poor start with getting scoring just 96.7 in the first round. 

Heena Sidhu scored 9.8 in her first shot. In the second round and remained in the 7th position with 117.1.

The Commonwealth Games gold medal winner jump back with a 10.6 and a 10.3 in the fourth series to ascend up to the fourth position.

She continued to score higher points and managed to secure a Bronze medal for herself.


Hoping to get a silver medal, Heena Sidhu struck a near-perfect 10.8, which saw her getting just 0.1 points behind her two contestants.

Needing a 10.2 to confirm silver medal, Heena Sidhu could only muster a 9.6 in her next shot and thus was eliminated.

Heena Sidhu finished with a total of 219.2, earning herself a bronze medal in the tournament.

Heena win saw India getting their 9th medal in shooting, and 23rd overall in the Asian Games so far.

Sidhu’s fellow shooter Manu Bhaker once again had an unsatisfying final after Sidhu’s finished in the 5th position with a score of 176.2.

The 16-year old had a poor outing and did not jump to be in her best spirits throughout the event.

On the other hand, Heena Sidhu had an incompatible qualification where she was weakening at 17th at one point.

In the final match too, there were more 9s than she would have liked.

But under pressure, and fighting for a medal, the Patiala girl shot a superb 10.8 with just three competitors left in the field at that time. A 9.6 right after proved to be unfavorable, as Heena Sidhu had to immediately bow out of the competition.
