World Cup 2019: Bangladesh Tigers Beat South Africa By 21 Runs
World Cup 2019, Match 5: Bangladesh won their first opening match against South Africa by 21 runs at Kennington Oval stadium, London on Sunday (June 2).
South Africa skipper after winning toss opted to ball and was put under pressure as Somya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal scored 60 runs first wicket partnership.
After which Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah – stood up and guided the side to 330 for 6 in the fifth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
South African bowlers Andile Phehlukwayo, Chris Morris and Imran Tahir each took 2 wickets.
In response to Bangladesh 330, De Kock and Aiden Markram opened for South Africa.
On the 4th bowl of 9th over De Kock was made to walk to the pavilion by Rahim (run out).
Although, African middle order batsmen scored well but does’nt get the mark of 330 runs.
SA Skipper Faf du Plessis scored the highest 62 runs (5 fours and 1 six) and was bowled out by Mehidy Hasan in 26.4 over.
Mustafizur Rehman took the highest 3 wickets in the match 5 of World Cup 2019.
Shakib Al Hasan (MoM) is the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance with bat and bowl.
UInder the captaincy of Masrafe Mortaza Bangladesh has won 4 matches out of 6 in the world cup and this is highest for any captain of Bangladesh.
South Africa will play against India on Wednesday, June 5 at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground while Bangladesh will play against New Zealand on the same day at The Oval.
